Heart on the Line
The length of the sojourn is unknown
The link to the world is only a phone
My eyes of the world are not my own
They are brother, sister, mother
I have grown in knowledge, others in earth tones
Memories like webs hold like ketones
Life is wasted away like a melting snow cone
sweet at its prime, dissolved in the dirt like stones
Dial tone, foot stone, full-blown, gemstone
I bask in the sun a jewel for no one to see
Alone in my journey dragging anchors from
the ground tied to my beloved, and to my heart
chained as an ox to a plow, I long to be free
